The Role
We are looking for a Construction Helper to join our growing team. The work location is 2219
Kootenay St, Nelson, BC V1L 6B1.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing residential construction sites by clearing debris, erecting scaffolding,
and setting up temporary structures or fences.
- Assist in the demolition of residential buildings using tools such as pry bars and
jackhammers; sort, clean, and stack reusable materials and ensure safe removal of waste.
- Assist in mixing, pouring, and spreading materials such as concrete, grout, and asphalt for
residential driveways, sidewalks, and house foundations.
- Load, unload, and transport construction materials (e.g., lumber, bricks, cement) to work
areas; operate basic equipment such as motorized wheelbarrows and small power tools.
- Clean and maintain construction tools and equipment to ensure their longevity and safe
operation on site.
- Assist tradespersons (such as carpenters or masons) in various tasks while strictly adhering
to site safety protocols and wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Experience & Qualifications
- 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
